MRS. WILDS' WEEKLY REPORT
OTHER INFORMATION:
*Thank you, thank you, thank you, and thank you to all those parents that have donated items from the wish list! From the candy, to the games, to the prizes, to the air fresheners, Room 218 should be set! I am blessed to work for awesome students and their awesome families. Thanks for sharing your kids with me!
*Please be sending any Box Tops, Hy-Vee Receipts, and Campbell Soup Labels!!
*Entering the building - you will be asked for your name before you are buzzed in. The office staff will be the only people allowed to open the doors for you.
*If you have any of these "Find Its" that you no longer use, 5B could use them!
*The lunch room is looking for volunteers to help out on Monday-Friday from 10:30-1:30. If you are interested, please contact Missy Ziola at 402-861-4520.
*Reminder to the girls that fingernail polish is not allowed. They have been reminded of this! If it is seen it will result in a demerit.
*We could use some candy (movie size and smaller) and Sprite/7-Up for the prize box!!!!! Thanks to all you donated. We can always use more! :)
*Some other items that are being requested for 5B - gel pens and mechanical pencils. Students enjoy redeeming these tickets for these items!
*We will be having a presentation on Wednesday, 5/13 at 9:00 a.m. in conjunction with National Police Week and our review of the events of September 11th in Social Studies. This will be a combination of a presentation/Q&A session led by police officers/firefighters, as well as a chance for us to honor them for their service. We will be inviting all current and retired police officers and firefighters to join us at this presentation. If you child has a family member or special friend who is (or was) a police officer or firefighter, we would love for them to join us if possible. Please let me know if your child has someone they would like to invite - all are welcome to attend. More information will be coming about this event. Thanks to Chris & Angie Circo for their assistance in planning this event.
*We will be going to the zoo on Monday, 5/18. I would like to get at least 4-5 chaperones to join us. You must be SAFE Environment trained. Please email me if you would like to join us! You will be able to use zoo passes for this trip. If you would like to use your zoo pass, please send in a photocopy of the front and back of your card. MAKE SURE TO WRITE YOUR NAME ON THE PAPER! If you are chaperoning, please indicate that the pass will be used The Gospel writer who also wrote the Acts of the Apostles was for 1 adult and 1 child. DRESS CODE FOR THE ZOO: Students will be required to wear this year's turquoise Martyr Marathon t-shirt and shorts of their choice. If your child no longer has that t-shirt, a uniform shirt and shorts of their choice may be worn. We are requiring a common shirt for safety reasons. This will allow teachers and chaperones to easily spot and keep track of SSM students. Students will also want to wear comfortable walking shoes - no sandals or flip flops. Make sure shorts are appropriate length for school. More information will be coming with regard to what students are allowed to bring to the zoo (lunch, spending money, camera, etc. )

Make sure your child is checking their Friday Folder and returning it empty to me. It is important to check to see if there are any corrections in their Friday Folder that need to be done over the weekend.

Monday, 5/11: Box Top Free Dress - we did earn this.Wednesday, 5/13: Police presentation at 9:00 a.m. and kindergarten buddies in the afternoon. Students may bring a snack and drink for this!

Safety Patrol: I you to look over the Safety Patrol Schedules and Information
STUDENTS HAVE THEIR SCHEDULES and it is also on the "Safety Patrol Schedule" tab.
PLEASE REMEMBER.....
1. Morning Patrol begins at 7:40 AM and ends at 8:00 AM.
**THIS MEANS BE OUTSIDE AND READY BY 7:40!**
2. Afternoon Patrol begins at 3:10 PM and ends at 3:25 PM.
3. If you cannot be at your assigned duty for any reason, YOU are
responsible for finding a substitute.
4. Failure to be on duty during your assigned time will result in one
demerit.
5. Students MAY NOT switch jobs/locations without notifying Mrs. Wilds
6. Students are to be out on duty the ENTIRE week!

SCHOOL SUPPLIES - Please make sure your child has all of the school supplies that were listed on the supply list. We have many kids without everything!
BOOK ORDERS: Please also look under the "Reading" tab of my website with information in regards to ordering online. When there are online orders, we earn free books for our classroom!!
*Be sure to check the "Wish List" Tab :) Thanks to all the donations that 5B has already received!
*Make sure your child is checking the website. It is a great time to have them start their own planning and organization!
*Safety Patrol: Please have your child dress in weather appropriate apparel for their safety patrol duty throughout the year. If it is rainy, please have them wear a poncho or other waterproof apparel to keep your head and body dry. If it is cold, please have them wear a coat, hat and gloves!! The poncho can be used again in 6th grade at Outdoor Ed!
*POP TABS - I collect pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House. If you have any at home or would like to start saving them, it would be greatly appreciated. The Ronald McDonald House turns these in for recycling and uses the money to help pay their electric bills. The Ronald McDonald House is a place where families who have children at Children's Hospital can stay during their time here in Omaha. Please help a worthy cause...and it is simple!
